Can you believe that summer is almost here?! I feel like it was just beginning to get nicer outside and spring was just beginning, now it’s almost over! I have so many things that I’m looking forward to this summer, but first I want to make sure that I finish the rest of spring strong!

This month I launched a new series on my blog to feature other inspiring girl bosses out there and there are so many women that I’ll be featuring in the month of June. To catch up on all of the features so far, go check them out here!

Today I'm sharing my goals for June and reflecting on May | The Sophisticated Gal

At the beginning of May, I shared my personal and business goals for the month. I wanted to give you all an update on how I did with those goals and also share my goals for the month of June.

Personal Goals

May was just as busy as April was, so there was something going on almost every single weekend! I got to spend Mother’s Day with my mama and take her on a delicious lunch. This month I also went to a bunch of different workout classes, including a PureBarre class at Bloomingdales to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness. It was such a fun event with mimosas and food after plus we got a FREE pink yoga mat (among many other freebies) πŸ™‚

Here’s a quick reminder of what my goals were from May!Β

#1 Get in Morning Workouts at Least 3 times a Week

While I did get more of my workouts in during the week and did some of them in the morning, I didn’t stick with this one as much as I wanted to. We started going to bed later so I would sleep in too late in the mornings during the week. Part of my June goals will be to wake up earlier so I can get more morning workouts in!

#2 Spend More Time with Family & Friends

I love when I get to spend time with my family and friends, so when I made this a goal for myself in May I made sure to schedule lots of time with them!Β Every weekend I spent time with either family or friends so I was able to spend a lot more time with the ones I love πŸ™‚

Business Goals

#1 Launch a New Series on my Blog

I was so excited to finally share what I had been working on in March & April with all of you this month! This month I launched my Inspiring Girl Boss series that features other inspiring women chasing their dreams and running their own businesses. I have met so many inspiring women since I started this blogging journey and I wanted to share their stories with you!
Check out all of the girl bosses we’ve featured so far here and if you know of a fellow girl boss that you’d like to nominate, send me an email at for a chance to be featured! πŸ™‚

#2 Get Up to 500 Followers on Instagram & 600 on Pinterest

I was able to get to over 500 followers in May on Instagram and I was so thrilled! As of today, I’m at about 515 followers. On Pinterest, I was hoping to get to 600 followers but that was also a pretty lofty goal for the month of May. I am up to about 540 followers on Pinterest though and I’m super happy about that!

#3 Update Etsy Store Listings

I wanted to upgrade the images for my Etsy store but unfortunately didn’t get to do this during May. I’m planning on upgrading them soon though and will be sharing the update with you all! If you haven’t checked out my Etsy store yet, make sure to check it out here.

#4 Collaborate with Other Bloggers

There are so many exciting things in the works, which you’ll all get to see soon πŸ™‚ I was able to connect and collaborate with a few other bloggers in the month of May for some upcoming posts. More on that soon πŸ˜‰

June Personal Goals

#1 Wake Up Earlier During the Week

Like I mentioned earlier, I’d like to start waking up earlier during the week so I can get in a longer workout and take my time getting ready for work! Anyone else feel like you’re just always in a rush in the mornings?! I often feel like I’m in a rush, so I’m hoping that waking up a little earlier helps with that πŸ™‚

#2 Organize My Closet & Sell Some Clothes

I am one of those types of people that just LOVES to organize and every once in awhile, I really just need to go through my clothes and get rid of any I don’t wear anymore. One of the goals I have for June is to organize my closet and put some of the clothes I don’t wear anymore up on Tradesy or Poshmark. I love using Tradesy for selling clothes, shoes, purses and more that I don’t use much anymore!

June Business Goals

#1 Guest Post on Another Blog

Part of my June goals is to guest post on another blog about career advice! I’m hoping that I get to guest post on at least one other blog this month πŸ˜‰

#2 Increase Followers on Social Media

For June, I’d like to increase my following even more! Here are my goals for this month:
  • Instagram – 600
  • Pinterest – 650
  • Facebook – 100

#3 Update Etsy Store Listings

Since I didn’t do this last month, I’m keeping it on my goals list for this month instead to keep myself accountable!

  1. I always find it inspiring to read other people’s goals. Good luck reaching all of your goals in June (I always find it more difficult to gain followers on Pinterest…idk why)!

  2. These are awesome goals! I honestly need to set more tangible goals for growth on social media. I’ve been to lax about it when it comes to strategy, but I love that you’ve set these goals and have been pushing towards achieving them. You go, girl!

  3. I’ve never heard of Tradesy! And girl I need to go through my closet too! After moving out of my dorm and back home I found so many clothes I forgot I even owned! Definitely a sign I need to get rid of some stuff.

  4. I’ve always wanted to try Pure Barre! One of my June goals is also to organize my closet. My vanity is inside of my closet and I’ve recently purchased some new containers to organize my makeup and jewelry. Maybe I’ll also get around to taking that bag of old clothes to Goodwill…
